TikToker Arrested for Threatening John Mahama and First Lady in Viral Video.

The Ghana Police Service has arrested TikToker Bawumia Ba, identified as Mahama Aminat, also known as Akosua Serwaa Minat, over alleged threatening and offensive comments made against President John Dramani Mahama in viral social media videos.

Police say the suspect allegedly used TikTok videos to verbally attack the President, make threats against his life, and incite violence toward both the President and his wife.

According to a police statement, officers from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET), together with the Surveillance Unit of the National Operations Department, arrested the suspect during an operation on May 20, 2026.

The arrest reportedly took place at Sekyere Zongo in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region after the videos gained attention online.
