We will burn down the NDC headquarters the next time they arrest an NPP member - Benghazi
NPP communications member Benghazi has caused public backlash after allegedly making inflammatory remarks against the NDC during a radio political discussion.
A communications member of the opposition New Patriotic Party, identified as Benghazi, has sparked controversy after allegedly threatening violent action against the ruling National Democratic Congress over the arrest of some NPP members.
Speaking during a political discussion on Onua FM, Benghazi reportedly stated that the NPP would “burn down the NDC headquarters” if another party executive is arrested. According to him, members of the NPP believe they are being unfairly targeted under the current administration and have endured similar treatment since the era of the PNDC government.
He also referenced Ghana’s former criminal libel law, alleging that similar tactics are now being used against officials of the NPP. During the discussion, the program host reportedly made several attempts to get him to withdraw or soften his comments, but he stood by his remarks.
The comments have since generated concern among political observers, with calls for calm and responsible political discourse. Benghazi expressed hope that the National Peace Council would step in to help ease tensions before the situation escalates further.
