“Do Not Share, Download, or Circulate Sex Videos of Russian Man – Sam George”
Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, has issued a strong public warning against sharing, downloading, rebroadcasting, or monetising viral videos secretly recorded and circulated by a foreign national.
Speaking at a joint press conference with officials from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the Minister stressed that engaging with the illegal content in any form constitutes a criminal offence under Ghanaian law.
“The Government has initiated steps to trace and secure relevant digital and financial evidence,” he stated.
According to the Minister, authorities are taking decisive steps to track digital footprints and financial transactions linked to the circulation of the material.
He emphasised that investigations will not focus solely on the foreign national allegedly involved. Any Ghanaian found to have shared, redistributed, downloaded, or monetised the content could also face legal consequences.
“Do not share, download, circulate, or monetise this illegal content. Doing so constitutes a criminal offence,” he warned.
The Minister’s warning follows the rapid spread of disturbing videos on social media allegedly showing a man identified as Yaytseslav interacting with Ghanaian women. The footage sparked widespread outrage and renewed national conversations about online exploitation and digital privacy.
Authorities say support mechanisms are being activated to assist affected individuals while law enforcement agencies pursue all legal avenues against those responsible for recording and distributing the material.
Government officials are urging the public to exercise caution and responsibility online, reminding citizens that sharing harmful or exploitative content not only violates the law but also deepens the trauma experienced by victims.
As investigations continue, authorities reiterate that digital actions leave trails — and anyone involved in circulating illegal material will be held accountable.
