Government to Complete 10 Agenda 111 Hospitals in 2026 — Mahama Ayariga
Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has announced that the government will complete ten Agenda 111 hospital projects within the year.
On February 3, 2026, the Bawku Central MP spoke to Parliament as the House resumed. He shared a list of actions the government plans to take by the end of 2026.
He revealed that construction of six new regional hospitals will commence this year, alongside two district hospitals at Bole and Shama.
“Six new regional hospitals will commence construction this year, alongside two district hospitals at Bole and Shama, while ten (10) Agenda 111 hospital projects will be completed,” he stated.
Mr Ayariga added that work will continue on ongoing projects at La General Hospital, Effia Nkwantang Hospital, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s maternity block, and the Ashanti Regional Hospital. He further disclosed that diagnostic and treatment centres will be established across major hospitals through public-private partnerships (PPPs).
Additionally, he noted that the government will allocate GH¢2.3 billion to the Mahama Care initiative, while GH¢9 billion will be provided to settle National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) claims.
According to the Majority Leader, these initiatives collectively position 2026 as a year of tangible progress, improving healthcare delivery, social interventions, education, and economic opportunities for all Ghanaians.
He emphasised that 2026 will be a transformative year for Ghana across all sectors.
