Korle-Bu Nursing Student Caught for Allegedly Faking Mobile Money Payment
A female student of the Korle-Bu Nursing and Midwifery Training Centre has been exposed for allegedly faking a mobile money transfer message to make it appear as though she had paid for an item she ordered.
The act reportedly came to light after the supposed recipient of the payment cross-checked the transaction with their mobile money records and discovered no funds had been transferred.
The incident has raised fresh concerns about the increasing prevalence of mobile money fraud, especially among the youth. Stakeholders have cautioned that such acts could have dire implications on both the reputation of the perpetrators and the overall trust in Ghana’s digital financial systems.
Many are calling for greater awareness on the consequences of mobile money fraud and stricter measures to deter similar practices in the future.
