Gov’t to Publish Full List of Public Land Beneficiaries (2017–2024)
The Ghanaian government will publish all public land applications from 2017 to 2024, revealing who acquired land and how much was paid, as part of reforms to improve transparency.
The government of Ghana will soon release the details of all public land applications submitted between 2017 and 2024, Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Yusif Sulemana, has revealed. This step is part of a broader effort to boost transparency and accountability in the management of state lands.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, March 11, Sulemana explained that thousands of applications from individuals, private companies, and organizations had been reviewed in recent months. The review ensures proper oversight in how public lands are allocated and administered across the country.
“Over 8,000 applications were reviewed. Some have been revoked, while completed applications remain valid. The public has the right to know who acquired land and how much was paid,” Sulemana said.
He added that Cabinet has approved a key recommendation to publish all reviewed public land applications. The Lands Commission will release both completed and pending applications region by region, allowing Ghanaians to see the full list of land allocations.
This move is expected to strengthen public trust, prevent misuse of state lands, and provide clear information to citizens on government land deals.
