Ghana, Nigeria to Explore Barter Deal: Electricity for Gas

Ghana’s Energy and Green Transition Minister, John Jinapor, has disclosed that the government is in talks with Nigeria to explore a barter arrangement that will see electricity supplied in exchange for gas.

The initiative, according to him, is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two West African nations while ensuring energy security for Ghana.

He explained that the proposed arrangement would help address challenges in securing affordable fuel for power generation while also enabling Ghana to maximize its electricity production capacity.
