GES Removes KNUST SHS Assistant Headmaster Over Leaked Video

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, following the circulation of a viral video allegedly showing him in a compromised position with a female student. The video, which has sparked widespread discussions on social media, prompted GES to take immediate action to safeguard the integrity of the teaching profession.

In a statement dated 29th September 2025, GES explained that the decision was taken to protect the safety and welfare of students under its care. Management stressed that the matter was being treated with the utmost seriousness, and as part of the interim measures, Mr. Aidoo has not only been removed from office but also prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are carried out.

GES further assured the general public, stakeholders, parents, and students that due process would be followed. The Service emphasized that appropriate disciplinary actions would be taken in accordance with the code of conduct of the Ghana Education Service once investigations are concluded. This, according to the management, is necessary to preserve accountability and discipline within the education system.

Reiterating its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection across all schools, GES strongly condemned acts that compromise the dignity, safety, and wellbeing of students. The Service reaffirmed its stance on ensuring a safe learning environment, stressing that it will not hesitate to act decisively in matters that threaten the integrity of education in Ghana.
