Attorney-General: Former Buffer Stock CEO Moved Over GHS40 Million in Illicit Funds
The Attorney-General has revealed that former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company Limited, Hanan Abdul-Wahab, and his wife allegedly acquired several high-value properties across Ghana using funds believed to be proceeds of crime.

According to the report, the couple purchased a five-bedroom mansion at Chain Homes for $1.6 million, a three-bedroom house at Cantonments for $600,000, and plots of land at the Airport Development area valued at $750,000.
The Attorney-General’s report further alleges that Abdul-Wahab also bought a 17-bedroom boutique hotel at Gumani in Tamale for $250,000, and a four-bedroom bungalow at Dzorwulu, Accra, for GH¢4.1 million.
He is additionally accused of acquiring a 0.32-acre government land worth GH¢307,200 using funds allegedly obtained illegally during his tenure as CEO of the Buffer Stock Company.
The report details the following financial transfers:
- GHS 16,179,137.25 — transferred from Sawtina Enterprise to Hanan Abdul-Wahab
- GHS 23,913,964.90 — transferred from Sawtina Enterprise to Alqarni Enterprise
- GHS 500,000.00 — transferred from Sawtina Enterprise to Fa-Hausa Ventures
- GHS 550,000.00 — transferred from Sawtina Enterprise to Chain Homes Ghana Limited
