TikToker ‘Ekow Black’ Remanded Over Viral Assault Video and Sextortion Claims
The Adabraka District Court has remanded Christford Affadu Danful, popularly known as Ekow Black, into police custody in connection with a viral assault incident and fresh allegations of sextortion.
The suspect appeared before the court on Friday, January 16, 2026. Presiding magistrate, Her Worship Nana Abena Asoh Owusu Omenyo, ordered that he be held in police custody to assist with ongoing investigations. He is expected to reappear before the court on January 21, 2026.
The remand follows investigations into an earlier incident captured in a video that circulated widely on social media. The footage allegedly shows the suspect involved in an assault, sparking public concern and prompting police action.
Prosecutors further informed the court of new allegations suggesting that the suspect threatened to circulate intimate images and engaged in conduct consistent with sextortion. Authorities say these claims form part of a broader investigation currently underway.
Police have indicated that inquiries are ongoing and that additional charges may be preferred depending on the outcome of investigations.
The case has attracted significant public attention, particularly due to the role of social media in amplifying the initial incident and the growing national concern over digital-related offences.
