Cyber Security Authority Arrests 53 Nigerians Over Suspected Cybercrime
A joint security operation spearheaded by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has dismantled several suspected cybercrime centres across parts of the Greater Accra Region.
The coordinated raids were carried out in East Legon Hills, Afienya, Kwabenya, Weija, and Tuba, following intelligence-led investigations into cyber-related criminal activities.
During the operation, security agencies arrested 53 Nigerian nationals. This number includes nine suspects believed to be directly involved in cybercrime activities, while 44 others were identified as alleged victims and subsequently rescued.
Items retrieved from the various locations include 62 laptops, 52 mobile phones, and two pump-action guns, which have been seized for further investigations.

Authorities say the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on cybercrime networks operating within the country. Investigations are continuing, and the suspects are expected to be processed in accordance with the law.
