WO1 Mensah Williams Granted GH¢70,000 Bail After Viral Pharmacy Assault

Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Mensah Williams is the soldier seen in a viral video. He was attacking a pharmacy worker and a female customer at Burma Camp. An Accra Circuit Court has granted him bail. He was released on GH¢70,000 bail with two sureties.

The incident occurred on October 29, 2025, at e-Pride Pharmacy. According to reports, WO1 Williams became enraged after the attendant informed him that medicines purchased at the shop were non-refundable.

He had allegedly demanded a refund of about GH¢65.00 for medication he sent his son to buy. CCTV footage, which quickly circulated across social media and major news platforms, showed him physically attacking the male attendant and assaulting a female customer who attempted to record the altercation on her phone.

Following the widely condemned attack, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) arrested WO1 Williams on October 30, 2025, and handed him over to the Cantonments Police Station to assist with investigations. He is expected to reappear in court as the case proceeds.
