Sam George Calls for Review of Military Enlistment Age Limit
The Minister for Communications, Hon. Sam George, has urged a review of Ghana’s military enlistment age limit to allow more citizens the opportunity to serve the nation.
Speaking on the issue, the Minister noted that many Ghanaians in their 30s are still physically fit and capable of contributing effectively to national security but are currently disqualified due to strict age restrictions.
He proposed that the upper limit for enlistment be raised to 35 years to make the recruitment process more inclusive and consistent with global standards. Sam George emphasized that the country must “nurture their dreams and not kill them,” highlighting the need for a system that values capability over age.
