A 55-year-old man has been handed a five-year prison sentence with hard labour after launching a violent attack on his sister at Sefwi Abrokofe in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.

The convict, William Gyamfi, also known in the community as Kwasi Manso, was sentenced by the Sefwi Bodi Circuit Court following an incident that occurred on January 17, 2026.

The victim sustained severe eye injuries during the attack, prompting outrage among residents and leading to the suspect’s immediate arrest by police.
After hearing the case, the presiding judge, His Honour James Mensah Donkor, found the accused guilty and sentenced him to five years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
