8 Arrested in Accra Over Alleged Land Guard Activities and Firearms Possession
The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has arrested and detained eight individuals suspected of engaging in land guard activities and the unlawful possession of firearms.
The arrests followed a distress call received on January 10, 2026, at about 12:50 p.m., prompting a swift response from the police to the reported incident.
According to a police brief issued on Sunday, the suspects were apprehended during an operation aimed at restoring calm and preventing further criminal activity in the area.
Police say investigations are ongoing, and the suspects are currently in custody to assist with further inquiries as efforts continue to clamp down on land guard operations across the region.
