Haruna Iddrisu Calls for Arrest of Bole SHS Teacher Over Leaked Video

The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has fiercely condemned an alleged incident of inappropriate sexual conduct involving a teacher and a student at Bole Senior High School.

Speaking on Thursday, July 9, the Minister urged the Ghana Police Service to fast-track its investigation and track down the suspect, who has reportedly fled to neighboring border towns.

Addressing attendees at the 2026 GALOP National School Awards, Iddrisu made it clear that the Ministry is closely monitoring law enforcement's next moves.

"The incident in Bole is unacceptable and shameful. So, the Police, we are watching you and how you proceed with the investigation and how you go further to prosecution to deter that unacceptable behaviour and conduct of a teacher," Iddrisu stated.

The fallout from the classroom scandal has been swift. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially halted the accused teacher's salary payments after he failed to report for duty following the incident.

In tandem with the salary freeze, the Education Minister directed the GES to enforce a zero-tolerance policy regarding indiscipline across all ranks. Iddrisu emphasized that any misconduct breaching professional and behavioral standards must be met with severe sanctions to protect the integrity of Ghana's education sector.

The police investigation remains ongoing as security agencies attempt to locate the fugitive teacher along the borders.
