The Concerned Youth Alliance marched to Jubilee House today in a large-scale protest against illegal migration and what they described as the growing presence of foreign nationals, particularly some South Africans and Nigerians, in Ghana.

According to the group, the situation is contributing to rising insecurity and increasing unemployment, as they claim some foreigners are taking jobs that should be available to Ghanaian citizens.

One protester, when asked why they joined the march, referenced the recent assault of a Ghanaian man legally living in South Africa, who was allegedly attacked by individuals accusing him of being an undocumented migrant, taking jobs, and engaging in criminal activities. She said such actions were wrong and unjustified.

Using the protest as a platform, she also called on South Africans and Nigerians living illegally in Ghana to return to their home countries and work to improve conditions there, arguing that it would help reduce crime and ease pressure on local opportunities.
