Godfred Akomaning, widely known as “Immortal Legend,” a Level 400 Petroleum Engineering student at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and winner of the 2025 Ghana Universities Debate Championship, has tragically passed away.

According to reports, he died after ingesting a toxic substance.

In a six-page memoir reportedly left behind, Godfred opened up about his long-standing struggles with mental health challenges, battles he said were largely unseen by friends and lacked adequate support from family. He indicated that his condition gradually worsened over time.

The incident has sparked conversations about mental health awareness and the importance of support systems for young people, particularly within academic environments.
