Manhyia Palace Denies Involvement in Daddy Lumba’s Funeral Arrangements
Charles Kwadwo Fosu (Daddy Lumba)

The Manhyia Palace has urged the public to disregard reports linking it to the burial and funeral arrangements of legendary highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.

This disclaimer was made public by Opemsuo Radio.

In a statement released on Thursday, December 11, 2025, the Palace clarified that it has no involvement in any ongoing preparations for the late icon’s funeral and cautioned Ghanaians to depend solely on accurate, verified information.

The clarification comes amid widespread reports falsely suggesting the Palace was participating in arrangements for Daddy Lumba’s burial. Palace officials have dismissed these claims as misleading and potentially harmful, especially as tensions continue to rise between the musician’s immediate family and extended relatives over the appropriate date for his burial. The family has already disowned a widely circulated December 13, 2025 funeral date, describing it as unauthorized.

According to the Manhyia administration, attempts to link the Palace to the matter risk creating unnecessary confusion and public misunderstanding.

It has therefore called on the public and media outlets to refrain from sharing unverified information that could further escalate the ongoing disagreements surrounding the late musician’s funeral plans.
