Man Murders Girlfriend at Yamoah Nkwanta for Denying Him Sex
The Awutu Ofaakor District Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, identified as Moses, over the suspected murder of his girlfriend at Yamoah Nkwanta in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
Citi News gathered that the suspect, a resident of Oboman in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, visited the deceased, identified as Sister Yaa, to spend the night with her. However, a misunderstanding reportedly arose when the deceased refused his demand for sex.
The suspect allegedly inflicted machete wounds on the victim before dragging her out of her room and smashing her head with a concrete block, killing her instantly.
The Chief of Awutu Yamoah Nkwanta, who also serves as the Ogyahene of the Awutu Traditional Council, Nai Achiene Acheampong Kuma, told Citi News that he personally reported the incident to the police upon learning of it. This led to the suspect’s arrest at Yamoah Nkwanta and his subsequent handover to the Ofaakor District Police Command.
The remains of the deceased have since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue, while efforts are underway to contact the victim’s family.
