Kofi Adams has revealed that Ghana has successfully secured television broadcast rights for the 2026 FIFA World Cup following government backing and nationwide fundraising efforts.

Speaking on Tuesday, May 12, during a ceremony where GCB Bank presented a GH¢5 million contribution toward the Black Stars’ World Cup preparations, the Sports Minister said football fans across the country would be able to watch the tournament live on selected television stations.

According to him, the combined support from the government and private institutions made it possible to finalize arrangements for the live telecast of the global football showpiece. The fundraising drive was recently introduced to encourage businesses and stakeholders to contribute financially toward the national team’s campaign ahead of the tournament.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with Ghana set to compete in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
