The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, is in stable condition following a road accident in the early hours of Thursday in the Oti Region.

The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. at Pai-Katanga while the King was returning to Accra from Tamale in the Northern Region.

Sources close to the palace revealed that the Ga Mantse had travelled to Tamale on a private visit at the invitation of the Yaa Naa. The visit was described as cordial and significant, forming part of broader engagements among traditional authorities to strengthen unity and reinforce bonds of mutual respect among Ghana’s revered institutions.

While the Ga Mantse reportedly escaped unhurt and remains in good spirits, his driver sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Personnel from the Ghana Police Service responded swiftly after being alerted to the scene.

Although the full circumstances surrounding the accident are yet to be officially detailed, sources say the atmosphere at the palace is one of relief and thanksgiving as the King continues to recover.
