Canada Deports 366 Nigerians as 974 Await Removal

Canada has deported at least 366 Nigerian nationals between January and October 2025, according to official data from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

The removals form part of Canada’s ongoing immigration enforcement efforts targeting individuals who have exhausted all legal avenues to remain in the country, including failed asylum seekers and those found in violation of immigration laws.

In addition to those already deported, 974 Nigerians are currently listed under “removal-in-progress” status, meaning deportation procedures have begun but are yet to be completed.

Canadian authorities clarify that this category does not indicate immediate deportation, as cases may still involve documentation, appeals, or logistical arrangements.

The figures highlight Canada’s intensified immigration compliance measures amid growing scrutiny of migration systems.
