He Paved the Way for Us All – Shatta Wale Honours Samini at Maiden Shatta Fest

Dancehall superstar Shatta Wale paid a glowing tribute to Samini at the maiden edition of Shatta Fest, describing him as a pioneer who opened doors for the new generation of Ghanaian musicians.

During the event held on October 18, 2025, the “Ayoo" hitmaker paused his performance to introduce Samini with heartfelt words of admiration and respect.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the person I’m about to introduce today is one of Ghana’s greatest legends. He’s somebody who paved the way for us all — someone who started performing in America, Canada, and Europe, and inspired our spirit,” Shatta Wale said, drawing thunderous cheers from the crowd.

Shatta Wale highlighted that Samini’s international achievements motivated many younger artists, including himself, to believe that Ghanaian music could make waves beyond local borders.

He urged fans and industry players to continue celebrating Samini for his immense contribution to the nation’s music industry.

The two legends capped the emotional moment with a joint performance of their hit collaboration, “Celebration.”
