22-Year-Old Man Remanded for Robbing and Sexually Assaulting National Service Nurse in Koforidua

A 22-year-old man, identified only as Kwame, has been remanded by a Koforidua court for allegedly robbing and raping a 25-year-old nurse serving her National Service, forcing her into a doggy-style position.

The victim, who had rented a room in the accused’s family home a few months earlier, was allegedly tricked by Kwame into believing that someone was waiting to see her in front of the Yiadom Hwedie Palace of the New Juabenmanhene.

During her absence, Kwame reportedly changed his clothes, wore a mask, and slipped into her bedroom. When she returned, he allegedly pulled a knife on her and demanded all her money. Out of fear, she handed over more than GH¢1,000 in cash. He is said to have also requested a mobile money transfer, but she had no funds in her account.

Still threatening her with the knife, the accused allegedly ordered her to undress and forced her into a doggy-style position before sexually assaulting her.
