Hilda Baci Sets Guinness World Record with Largest Serving of Nigerian Jollof Rice

Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has once again made headlines, this time partnering with Gino to achieve the Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

The historic feat, which took place in Victoria Island, Lagos, saw a staggering 8,780 kilograms (19,356 lb 9 oz) of the iconic dish prepared in a specially designed pot capable of holding over 22,000 litres.

The event attracted thousands of spectators, including celebrities and dignitaries, all eager to witness Nigeria’s beloved jollof claim its place on the global stage.

Despite some technical challenges, including the collapse of the massive pot during the weighing process, organizers pressed on to ensure the record was secured. While initial plans called for around 5,000 kilograms of raw rice, the final tally came to about 4,000 kilograms due to adjustments made for accurate weighing.

The achievement not only highlights Baci’s growing reputation for record-breaking culinary feats but also celebrates Nigerian culture and cuisine, sparking pride and conversations across social media and beyond.
