“Pay Us Now or We Protest Naked” — CNSPAG Issues Ultimatum Over Allowance Delays

The Concerned National Service Personnel Association of Ghana (CNSPAG) has voiced its profound dissatisfaction over the persistent delay in the payment of National Service allowances to thousands of young graduates across the country.

In a strongly worded press release dated 12th April 2025, the association expressed indignation at what it described as "unacceptable and unconscionable" treatment of personnel who have committed their time and energy to national development. Many personnel have reportedly endured severe financial distress for months, struggling to meet basic needs such as transportation, accommodation, and sustenance.

The situation has escalated to alarming levels, with several National Service personnel suffering serious health complications, including stress-induced conditions and malnutrition, some requiring hospitalization. CNSPAG highlighted this as a national disgrace and a betrayal of the very youth who form the backbone of Ghana’s future workforce.

The association noted that patience among the service personnel has been completely exhausted due to the continuous silence and perceived lack of urgency from relevant authorities, including the National Service Scheme management and the Ministry of Finance.

In a bold and non-negotiable demand, CNSPAG has called for the immediate payment of all outstanding allowances, warning that failure to comply within the coming days will leave them with no option but to embark on intensified protest actions. Most notably, the group stated they will not hesitate to stage a mass naked demonstration as a symbolic expression of the extreme vulnerability, neglect, and indignity they have faced.

The release concludes with a passionate appeal to all stakeholders to act urgently to avert national embarrassment, emphasizing that the dignity, health, and survival of Ghanaian youth must not be trivialized. “Enough is enough. Pay us what is due. Now.”
