Atalanta Completes €17.5M Deal for Ghana’s Kamaldeen Sulemana
Italian Serie A side Atalanta have officially secured the signing of Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana from English club Southampton in a deal worth €17.5 million, with an additional €4 million in potential bonuses. The agreement also includes a 15% sell-on clause in favour of Southampton. Sulemana, who joined Southampton in early 2023 for a club-record fee, has completed his medical and is set to sign a long-term contract that could keep him at Atalanta until 2029.
This move comes after Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League, prompting several players, including Sulemana, to seek opportunities elsewhere. Known for his explosive pace and ability to play across the frontline, the 23-year-old is expected to fit well into Atalanta’s high-intensity playing style. The transfer is seen as a promising step for both the club and player, with Sulemana looking to reignite his career in Italy’s top flight under manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
