Sources at the school where he worked indicated that Mr Quainoo had been absent from duty for some time but resumed work on March 3, 2026. According to colleagues, he left the school premises around midday after the second break, informing staff that he was unwell and needed to return home to seek medical attention.

Later in the day, reports emerged that he had allegedly taken his own life at his residence in Assin Fosu. His two daughters, aged eight and seven, are said to have discovered him when they returned home from school and subsequently raised an alarm, drawing the attention of neighbours.

Preliminary information suggests he allegedly used a skipping rope tied to a crossbar. Authorities are expected to conduct further investigations to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, police have yet to release an official statement, but investigations are ongoing. The heartbreaking development has sparked conversations about emotional and mental well-being, with many calling for stronger support systems within families, schools and communities.

Anyone experiencing emotional distress is encouraged to seek help from trusted relatives, religious leaders, counsellors or qualified health professionals, as support is available and reaching out can make a difference.
