19-Year-Old Woman Vows to Spread HIV After Contracting Virus at Galamsey Site
In the viral video, the teenager opened up about her journey to the illegal mining (galamsey) hub. She admitted that her initial goal was to find regular work and make a living.
However, upon arriving, she quickly realized that the manual labor at the site was grueling and "no child's play." Eager to make fast money without the backbreaking labor, she turned to sex work.
According to her, she could easily make between Ghc1,000 and Ghc2,000 per person. Intrigued by the quick financial returns, she decided to settle down permanently at the site, setting up a wooden structure as her base of operations when she was just 18 years old.
The turning point came when a male client approached her with a chilling warning. The young woman claimed the man told her he was leaving her a "gift," the true nature of which she would only discover after visiting a hospital.
Not long after the encounter, she began experiencing severe health symptoms. A subsequent medical test confirmed she had contracted HIV.
Now back in her hometown, the 19-year-old expressed deep bitterness over her diagnosis, concluding the video with the shocking declaration that she intends to intentionally spread the virus to as many young men as possible.
